A couple of weeks ago I applied and was accepted into the Taproot Foundation. I heard about the foundation through my boss at the time, photographer Mathieu Young. They are a one of a kind company started by a man who had noticed a need in our community. This need was for equal advertising competition for non-profits. He noticed that because the budgets of non-profits were usually small, their professional presence in the huge pool of advertising had little to no chance. And these were the companies that mattered! So he gathered a few professionals who were willing to donate their skills for a good cause. Pretty soon the organization started to grow and grow. Now the organization has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

Above is an Image of Steve Jobs being silly with Photobooth. I hope I can speak for us all when I say that we only wish he is having just as much fun right now, wherever he is. I don’t think I’ve ever been so saddened by the death of any other public figure than I have been with Steve Jobs. Especially as a designer, I feel that all of us have so much to thank him for. Not only was he a visionary, but he gave the underdogs a chance (Pixar). He believed in what he did and look at how it has affected the entire world! Here is a collection of reactions from his colleagues and friends. There is also a great article here about the owner of Gizmodo and how Steven Jobs was always a kind man to him.
